What to Put in the First Email If You Want a Price
Every week a few emails arrive that say the same thing. Please send the latest catalog, the MOQ, the payment terms and the FOB price. Sometimes the whole message is “Bag service.” There is nothing in either one to price. A dry bag at 5 litres with a one-color print is not the same quote as a 20L TPU backpack, and both of those emails could mean either.
You do not need a tech pack on the first day. You do need enough that we are not guessing. Six lines is usually plenty.
What the email has to settle
What it is. A roll-top dry bag, a backpack, a duffel with a wet compartment, or a model you already found on the site. A number helps. JA050 is the 30L ocean pack. JA053 is the 5L camping one. JA052 is the TPU kayak backpack with the outside pocket.
How big, in use, not as a word. Litres if you know them. If you do not, write what has to fit. A 10L that must take a magazine about 30 by 21 cm plus a few small items is a brief. “Medium” is not.
Cloth, or a price instead of a cloth. PVC, TPU, or “use whatever hits this unit price.” If you have a target, write the number. It is more useful than the word premium.
How many, and whether the logo is on this order. One bag with a crest is a sample. Fifty to a hundred with a small mark is a short run we can still talk about. A thousand and up is a production slot, and the planning changes. Say which one you are actually in. A hope that the order might grow later is fine, but price the quantity you can place.
Where it is going. FOB Foshan is a clean request. A delivered price to a marina in Croatia, or to Cancun, is a different sheet. If you want FOB, say FOB, so we do not build a freight guess into the bag price.
A color and a logo file, even if the logo can still move. Navy, black, or a digital camo, size of the mark not fixed yet: that is enough to start. “Your best colors” leaves us picking from our own shelf.
OEM and ODM are not the same delay
ODM, for us, means we start from a bag already in the line and change the color, the logo, the strap, or a pocket. That is the right first order for most brands. OEM means the shape is yours. New tooling and a new pattern are worth it when you already know the bag will repeat. They are a slow way to test a logo.
Carsikie Bag is the export name of Foshan Kashiqi Outdoor Leisure Sports Products Co., Ltd. The workshop is in Lishui, Nanhai, Foshan. We have been on waterproof bags since 2008. Joan reads these: joanbags2022@126.com, and +86-13922536806 on WhatsApp and WeChat. A company email is easier to put on a proforma. A Gmail can still be a real buyer, but put the company name in the signature so we know who the invoice is for.
Packing usually starts as an OPP bag and a carton, and it can change if you retail them as a set. Payment terms and the ship date belong on the proforma after we know the cloth and the print. A stock color with a one-color logo moves faster than a matched TPU with hardware we do not keep. I am not going to put one lead time in a blog post and have it argued back at us later. Ask on your brief, and the date goes on your PI.Quotes go through Joan: joanbags2022@126.com, WhatsApp or WeChat +86-13922536806.
